Full Job Description Job Description:
Exquadrum is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to own the industrialization of our products for high-rate production. In this role, you will work closely with the mechanical design and production teams to develop processes, tooling, and build documentation that ensure builds are repeatable, cost-effective, and meet stringent quality standards. This role is focused on building at scale—delivering reliable hardware every time. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing flexible, adaptable manufacturing processes that enable rapid production at scale. Working with a world-class engineering team, you will bridge the gap between design and manufacturing, delivering solutions that ensure manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and mission-critical reliability. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience. 4+ years in a high-volume production manufacturing environment. Strong background in process documentation, quality systems, and production planning. Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and process capability. Hands-on experience with shop floor processes (machining, welding, composites, additive manufacturing, assembly, test). Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, integration, or test of mission-critical hardware. Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills with the ability to plan, organize, analyze, and solve complex problems. Proactive self-starter capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical ideas to executive management, internal teams, customers, and prospects. Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and produce accurate, high-quality work. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license. Must have the ability to obtain a security clearance. Essential Functions:
Fully own production processes from build readiness through steady-state manufacturing. Design and qualify manufacturing equipment, fixtures, tools, and jigs to enable repeatable builds. Develop, document, and release controlled work instructions and quality gates to ensure repeatability and reliability. Drive the optimization of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Assembly processes, focusing on content reduction, assembly simplification, and built-in quality. Provide daily production support and implement SPC, PFMEA, and root cause corrective action for nonconformances. Travel to machine suppliers and contract manufacturers to oversee equipment bring-up and manufacturing trials. Partner with technicians to train, enforce standard work, and improve safety/ergonomics. Work with supply chain to ensure rate-capable vendors and part availability. Drive continuous improvement in cycle time, yield, and cost. Preferred Qualifications:
? Experience working in clean room, controlled-contamination, sterile, or highly disciplined production environments. ? Strong appreciation for the benefits of clean, organized, and repeatable manufacturing practices, with the ability to bring discipline, structure, and process control into fast-moving production environments. ? Hands-on mechanical aptitude and a builder's mindset. Ideal candidates have experience with fabrication, welding, off-road vehicles, motorsports, robotics, or other hands-on technical projects. ? Experience working in high-consequence manufacturing environments, including energetics, pyrotechnics, pressure systems or chemical processing. ? Extensive knowledge of aerospace quality and production standards such as IS9001 & AS9100.
? Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global environment. Essential Safety Functions:
This position may involve working with or around hazardous materials, high-pressure systems, chemicals, high-voltage equipment, and/or potentially dangerous environments such as test facilities, propulsion systems, or live-fire test ranges, as well as the manufacturing and handling of propellants, pyrotechnics, and explosive devices. This role requires a strong safety mindset, consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and full compliance with safety protocols and operational and risk mitigation procedures. Employees must wear appropriate PPE, and comply with all corporate, OSHA, industry-specific safety requirements, and other regulatory safety requirements. Participation in risk assessments and safety briefings is required before conducting any hazardous testing activities. Training will be provided for all hazardous tasks. Physical Requirements:
This position involves a combination of sedentary and active tasks. Individuals may need to sit or stand for extended periods, and walk primarily on level surfaces for portions of the workday, when in an office environment. Occasional reaching above shoulder height, reaching below the waist, and lifting may be required for handling documents, tools, or materials. Proper lifting techniques must be used at all times. Additional duties may include:
Working at differing site elevations and on elevated work platforms, following all fall-protection and safety protocols. Performing physical tasks for extended periods, such as standing, walking, or operating equipment. Lifting, carrying, and maneuvering equipment and materials as required by the position. Working in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures (heat and cold), wind, dust, and other outdoor elements. Work Environment:
The performance of this position may require work in manufacturing and laboratory areas as well as the outside test facilities. Under certain conditions, these environments require the use of personal protective equipment such as eye and face protection, hearing protection, protective gloves, respirators, foot protection, and lab coats. This position may also involve handling energetic materials and chemicals. The role may require working long or irregular shifts, including nights and weekends, to meet program and project deadlines.
