The Role Our Colorado Springs, Rockrimmon site is investing in a new Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Colorado Springs. We are looking for a dynamic, versatile Senior Equipment Design Engineer who will be responsible for developing and acquiring custom equipment needed to support our production for Microcontamination Control (MC) division for global products.What You'll Do:
This process includes equipment design, project management, specification development, monitoring equipment design development on vendor projects, vendor selection, vendor management, validation, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment. With the fast pace of innovations in semiconductors, you must be able to interact with staff in all functions to deploy assets to add capacity, replace older machines, meet New Product Introduction requirements, and improve quality, safety and ergonomics. Review current manufacturing processes and equipment, define requirements and opportunities, and create new designs for development to improve yield, throughput, safety, reliability. Engage with a variety of stakeholders including, Facilities, R&D, Maintenance and Reliability, Automation & Controls Engineering, Quality, EHS, Procurement and Operations personnel from global sites in the entire process from development to commissioning and qualification of equipment in Colorado Springs. Collaborate with cross functional team to analyze manufacturing processes to identify design opportunities for improvement and optimization in productivity, quality, safety, and ergonomics for equipment in Colorado Springs and global Entegris manufacturing locations. Create design inputs, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Maintenance and Reliability (DfMR), HAZOP, Risk assessment and FMEA to develop specification documents for new or improved equipment. Review equipment design, electrical diagram, P&ID, floor layout, user requirement specification (URS), Request for Pricing (RFP), Develop Functional Acceptance Test (FAT) protocols, commissioning plans, and resources. Align plans with stakeholders. Conduct Functional Acceptance Test (FAT) at vendor site and resolve all outstanding issues for system acceptance (FAT punch list). Collaborate with various stakeholders for equipment move in, hookup, installation, and qualification. Develop and manage project plans to complete within schedule, budget, and quality constraints. Create and maintain all documentation for projects such as drawings, SOPs, specification, FAT, cost tracking, qualification procedure and data. Collaborate with engineers, Maintenance and Reliability personnel and Operations to define PM programs (including spares inventories, frequency and timing and etc.) for new assets. Assist with classic New Product/Process Engineering responsibilities if the business dictates. This would include troubleshooting, failure analysis, SPC, Quality and Yield improvement. Provide guidance and support to teammates to complete all assigned tasks.What We Seek:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electromechanical/ Manufacturing/ Automation, Engineering, or Mechatronics preferred, but related experience in lieu of education may also be considered. 8+ years of working experience in the engineering field 8+ years working experience in SolidWorks/AutoCad/CAD modeling, designing electromechanical or chemical processing equipment Strong experience designing high purity plastic piping systems and optimizing instrumentation for chemical/fluid processing. Experience in equipment design development, robotic and automation control systems, equipment Facilitation, HVAC, and project management. Experience working with industrial control systems, PLC (i.e., Allen Bradley/Mitsubishi/Keyence etc.), and control devices such as motors, pumps, valves, heaters, and ovens. Ability to design/read electrical schematics, P&IDs, control drawings, engineering drawings and safety standards such as OSHA, NFPA, UL and etc. Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis, solve problems and troubleshoot systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project). Motivated and self-directed team player with great interpersonal skills. Must have ability to reach out, communicate and influence personnel at all levels within the organization. Technical vendor management must have the skills to collaborate with and manage equipment engineering processes to scope with external equipment building partners. Positive mindset with creativity, good problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, wear PPE and work in clean room environment, as necessary. Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally around 30% to support various engineering projects, assignment, and training.
