Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Design Automation Software Development Engineer (DFT) for a top semiconductor client. This engineer will develop, test, deploy, and support design automation software tools and methodologies used in SoC ASIC Design-for-Test development. 50% of the time will be spent scripting and automating EDA tool flows using Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby, or Tcl, 25% will be user support and the remaining 25% will be training & future project assessment. The engineer will debug tool- and design-flow-related issues encountered by IC designers, support synthesis, insertion, integration, and verification of test logic, and enable generation of production tests for manufacturing. This role also includes collaborating directly with EDA vendors to resolve tool issues, deploying evolving DFT architecture solutions, and providing training, documentation, and global support to engineering teams across multiple geographies. The ideal candidate blends strong software engineering skills with hands-on digital logic and scan test knowledge to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions for cutting-edge ASIC programs. Skills and Requirements 4+ years of experience in ASIC/SoC, DFT, or related design automation roles Strong software development experience Solid understanding of digital logic design, Verilog HDL, and Scan Test Architecture Proven ability to debug complex EDA tool, flow, and design integration issues Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering SSN (Streaming Scan Network) using Tessent (industry-standard DFT tool) Object-oriented programming background / experience with Ruby Scripting language Master's degree in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering
