job summary: Automation Engineer for immediate direct hire position just south of Naugatuck, CT! This is an AWESOME opportunity to work in an amazing environment with some cool capital equipment technology! If you enjoy wearing many hats and being involved with all phases of engineering and manufacturing, please read on! This role will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining safe and reliable control software for industrial machinery, including PLC programming, HMI development, VFD parametrization, and industrial networking. The right person will have proven experience with industrial controls, HMI systems, PLC design and a passionate attitude towards automation systems involving internal and external customer interfaces. This role is open to a degreed engineer with 3+ years of experience in automation engineering for industrial machinery, preferably in plastics or the heavy equipment industry. Naugatuck, Connecticut job type: Permanent salary: $95,000 - 110,000 per year work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Develop, implement, and test PLC programs using Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000Design and configure HMI systems using AVEVA InTouchPerform VFD parametrization and commissioning, particularly for large motorsEstablish control logic templates, code libraries, and documentationExecute and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and assist in Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) when requiredDesign and maintain industrial communication networks Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related with 3+ years of experience in automation engineering for industrial machinery with advanced control systems.

Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal), Rockwell PLC programming (Studio 5000), AVEVA InTouch HMI configurationExperience with large motors and VFDs (?600kW) including commissioning and parameter setupProven knowledge of safety standards and industrial control systems designFamiliarity with communication protocols and industrial networkingMust have knowledge of automation systems including instrumentation (analog and digital), and Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems including programming, startup and troubleshooting qualifications: Experience level: ExperiencedMinimum 3 years of experience
