Full Job Description Position Description:
The New Product Introduction (NPI) and Manufacturing Engineer serves as a crucial link between customer designs and manufacturing operations, facilitating the seamless and efficient introduction of new products. This position entails the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, and comprehensive documentation to support both new product introductions and ongoing production requirements. Individuals in this role are integral to the product development lifecycle, collaborating closely with customers, account management, production, and quality assurance teams.
Principal Responsibilities:
Lead the information process between customers and production to ensure all design requirements are met. Support account management with any technical correspondences to and from customers. Participate in customer meetings as required. Lead new product introduction (NPI) projects from quote to production. Establish manufacturing processes. Work with suppliers to ensure component readiness and quality Document and standardize manufacturing processes and work instructions. Provide support for the tooling and equipment used in the manufacturing processes. Identify and mitigate production risks early in the development cycle Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards Conduct process validation for both new and existing manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements. Presents updates on manufacturing readiness and addresses any related issues during project and design reviews. Analyzes customer engineering documentation to provide labor quotations and assess manufacturing risks. Assist process engineers with tooling requirements for NPI and ongoing builds.
Essential Responsibilities:
Utilize advanced CAD tools. A strong ability to understand and interpret engineering documentation including but not limited to drawings, bill of materials, engineering notes and technical specifications. Prepare control documents and work instructions. Provide technical support to production departments as needed. Provide technical decisions and guidance and ensure the flow down of project requirements to suppliers and manufacturing. Develop comprehensive manufacturing strategies for prototype, pilot production, and full-scale production phases. Direct, organize, execute, and finalize projects according to specifications and timelines, meeting key performance indicators for quality, cost, and delivery. Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability Perform design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) reviews. Extensive knowledge of Excel, Auto
CAD, CAM
software, and MES software. Strong technical communication skills verbally and written. Maintain adherence to industry standards, including
IPC, ISO 9001, AS
9100, ROHS, and J-STD, for all processes and documentation. Mentor and guide coworkers/new hires as required. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Maintain compliance with company safety policies by adhering to all established safety protocols and ESD procedures to protect sensitive electronic components. Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Computer literacy is essential, along with the ability to read, write, review, and approve documentation. Participate in company-sponsored and specialized training programs to enhance skills and professional development. Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering highly preferred of 10+ years industry experience. 3+ years of experience in NPI or manufacturing engineering Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems Experience with DFM/DFA principles and tools Proficiency in CAD software and engineering documentation Excellent project management and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Effective communication and teamwork skills Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment SMTA Certified Process Engineer preferred. Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with strong problem-solving abilities. Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities. Highly flexible, self-directed, and self-disciplined in planning, achieving objectives, and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision. Demonstrated working knowledge of
IPC-A, ISO, AS 9100
ASR, ROHS, and J-STD standards is required.

Physical Requirements:
Employees will regularly alternate between standing and sitting according to the needs of each job or task being performed and will also endure lengthy periods of sitting, standing and walking. Tasks require bending, as well as pushing and pulling equipment throughout the facility and operating various warehouse equipment. Proficiency with computer skills is also essential and may require the employee to stand or sit while using the computer. Due to the physically intensive nature of this role, employees should anticipate spending the majority of their work hours on physical tasks. This position demands significant physical capability and stamina to effectively execute job duties. The role requires consistent participation in diverse physical tasks throughout each workday, including but not limited to:

Frequent walking and sitting with the adaptability to transition between positions as necessary.

Maintaining equilibrium during activities.

May require climbing ladders and stairs.
Floor-Level Operation:
Crawling and crouching for access and task completion.

Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials, with a capacity of up to 60 pounds.
Reach:
Extending arms and torso to various heights, encompassing below, at, and above shoulder level.
Repetition:
Engaging in repetitive motions involving the hands, arms, and other body parts.
Pushing/Pulling:
Pushing or pulling carts, trays, equipment, tools, etc. in accordance to job needs.

Safety and organization are paramount, achieved through dedicated team efforts and active employee participation in maintaining high standards and identifying potential hazards. Each employee is assigned a dedicated workspace, fostering ownership and individual efficiency, which contributes to overall operational fluidity and allows our team to thrive. Regular operating hours are established as 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend work may be required contingent upon business demands.
