Mechatronics Technician - Machine Build & Test (Bowdon, GA)

Competitive & based on experience About Taymer Taymer International Inc. designs and builds industrial machine vision systems, length marking/printing machines, and measuring devices used in wire & cable, medical, and aerospace manufacturing. With operations and facilities across North America, Europe, China, South America, and India, you'll work hands-on in our Bowdon facility with support from a highly experienced international team. Why this role is different This is not a repetitive assembly line. You will take machines from their individual components to finished systems. This includes mechanical build, electrical integration, PLC/HMI configuration, and validating functionality before shipping equipment that our customers use every day. Variety of machine builds (this is not a one station all day job) Work directly with engineering and project leads Develop real automation-adjacent skills: sensors, I/O validation, PLC/HMI workflows, troubleshooting Clear growth path for motivated employees (Lead Builder, Integration Specialist, Field Commissioning Engineer) What you'll do Assemble and wire industrial equipment and subassemblies using build documents, drawings, and checklists Install mechanical and electromechanical components (hardware, guards, mounts, sensors, motors/actuators, cable management, enclosures) Interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics as needed Load approved programs and configurations to PLCs and HMIs Platforms include Allen-Bradley and Siemens No PLC programming from scratch required (this role is focused is loading and validation) Validate operation and integration Verify machine I/O to the PLC (point-to-point checks, sensor/actuator verification) Verify machine functionality Confirm safety devices/interlocks and HMI functionality Run functional checks using validation checklists Troubleshoot build/integration issues (fit, wiring, sensors, setup) and QA testing Document builds, settings, and validation results; communicate status/issues clearly to engineers and project managers Maintain a clean, organized work area and take care of tools and equipment Follow ISO quality principles during assembly and final verification Perform occasional soldering and light electrical assembly tasks as needed What we're looking for 1+ year experience in electromechanical/mechatronics assembly, integration, installation, maintenance, commissioning, or similar Strong mechanical aptitude; comfortable using hand tools and power tools Comfortable working with PLC-controlled equipment (loading programs/configs, basic diagnostics, and validation) Able to stay organized, follow checklists, and work independently after training Basic Windows skills (documentation, spreadsheets, file management) Clear communication and teamwork mindset Nice to have Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLC/HMI workflows (upload/download, parameter setup, basic diagnostics) Machining experience; drill press/mill/lathe familiarity; light fabrication or rework QC/inspection or inventory experience Education Post-secondary education in electronics, manufacturing, engineering, or mechatronics (or equivalent experience) What we offer Flexible work hours Competitive pay based on experience Medical benefits Retirement benefits Collaborative culture with teammates who push each other to improve Yearly trips to Canada for training, business planning, technical improvement meetings, and team events
