Job Description:
Automation Engineer | Architectural Wood Products Manufacturing | Rome, GA Are you a hands-on automation engineer who thrives on the plant floor - not just behind a screen? We're looking for someone who can own the full lifecycle of automation systems at a growing North American manufacturer of architectural wood products. This is a direct-hire opportunity with a well-established company that continues to invest in cutting-edge manufacturing technology across multiple U.S. and Canadian facilities. What You'll Do You'll design, develop, and maintain advanced automated systems - from robotics and control systems to software integration and process optimization. Day to day, that means: Designing and implementing automation projects using Industry 4.0 methodologies Programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, VFDs, and SCADA systems Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate automation across operations Analyzing production data to identify and drive continuous improvement Partnering with vendors to evaluate and implement new technologies Training staff and documenting systems and best practices What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3-5 years of automation/controls experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley systems and Studio 5000 is strongly preferred Proficiency with Rockwell Automation programming software Experience with Ignition, Python, or similar platforms is a plus CAD skills (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks) Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles Important Details - Please Read Before Applying ?

Travel:
20-25% annually between facilities ?

Compensation:
Base salary up to $85K, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package (medical/dental/vision, 401k with match, PTO, tuition reimbursement, and more)
