Full Job Description Job Description:
Working within the portable plant engineering team, the Graduate Design Engineer will support development of new equipment and the maintenance of existing wheeled crushing and screening plants.
Responsibilities:
Apply mechanical engineering principles to machine and equipment design Support the development of engineering solutions for new products and modifications to existing products Prepare manufacturing specification package including Engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs) Assist in identifying and resolving issues through root cause analysis Participates in the engineering change process related to wheeled platform engineering Supports prototype development and field-testing activities Learn, follow and apply engineering standards and associated IT systems, to ensure accurate and effective global management of released engineering data Contribute to ensuring current and new products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability Assist in reducing manufacturing costs through design improvements and collaborate with the production, materials and suppliers Assist with investigating and addressing customer complaints in a timely manner Participate in driving standardization of components and sub-assemblies within the wheeled platform product line Stay informed of machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology to new and existing designs where appropriate to stay current and innovative
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering Entry‑level role; experience may include internships, co‑ops, or academic projects
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with heavy equipment Competent user of 3D Solid Modeling CAD, ideally Pro-Engineer Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Analysis of welded steel structures and hydraulic systems Communication skills, both written and spoken Good presentation and interpersonal skills Able to investigate the root cause of machinery nonperformance If you are interested in an open position but feel you may not meet all the listed qualifications, we still encourage you to apply.
