CNC Manager Dyersville Die Cast — Dyersville, IA $10,000 Sign-On Bonus Full-Time | 1st
Shift Pay:
Competitive, based on experience Job Summary Dyersville Die Cast is hiring an experienced CNC Manager to lead our CNC machining department. This position is responsible for managing daily CNC operations, production schedules, employee performance, machine utilization, quality, safety, tooling, setups, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on CNC machining experience, previous leadership experience, and the ability to drive accountability, efficiency, and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a key leadership role for someone who can lead from the floor, solve problems quickly, support employees, and improve overall CNC department performance. Responsibilities Manage daily CNC department operations, production priorities, staffing, and schedules. Lead CNC operators, setup technicians, programmers, and other department employees. Ensure machines are properly set up, running efficiently, and meeting production requirements. Monitor machine utilization, downtime, scrap, rework, productivity, quality, and labor efficiency. Troubleshoot CNC machining issues related to tooling, fixtures, offsets, programs, setups, and machine performance. Work with operations, engineering, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams to resolve production issues. Support CNC programming, program edits, setup improvements, tooling selection, and cycle time reduction. Ensure employees follow process sheets, work instructions, inspection requirements, and safety procedures. Drive employee accountability for attendance, performance, quality, safety, and housekeeping. Maintain strong 5S, cleanliness, and organization standards throughout the CNC department. Train, coach, evaluate, and develop CNC employees. Assist with hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, corrective action, and succession planning. Identify and lead process improvement, cost reduction, automation, and efficiency improvement opportunities. Support company goals related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Previous CNC leadership experience in a manufacturing environment required. Strong hands-on knowledge of CNC machining, setups, tooling, fixtures, offsets, and production processes. Experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or similar CNC equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, inspection requirements, and production documents. Strong understanding of part quality, inspection, scrap reduction, and process control. Ability to lead employees, hold people accountable, and drive department performance. Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and follow-through skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on CNC leadership experience will be considered.
