Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION
The Advanced Manufacturing Technology Instructor is responsible for teaching a variety of advanced manufacturing-related courses, facilitating student learning and success, and developing curriculum and strategies that address the needs of students, industry partners, and the industry. Instruction will be delivered across multiple modalities and pedagogical approaches, including classroom-based instruction and experiential, hands-on learning opportunities. In consultation with the Dean, the instructor will oversee lab and project activities, ensuring effective support for daily operations. The instructor will also support program activities such as community outreach, student recruitment, and building relationships with industry partners. Salary based on education and experience. Associate degree or diploma in Welding, Tool & Die, or a closely related field with at least 3,000 hours of relevant, recent work experience in the advanced manufacturing and/or welding industry. In the absence of a degree or diploma, the candidate must have at least 6,000 hours of relevant, recent work experience in the advanced manufacturing and/or welding industry. Demonstrated working knowledge of core manufacturing practices sufficient to support instruction in electrical, CAD, mechanical, and welding technologies.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a closely related field preferred. Previous collegiate teaching experience, including demonstrated effectiveness in student engagement, curriculum development, and assessment of learning outcomes, and commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy also preferred.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Teaching & Program Development- Plan, deliver, and assess instruction across various formats (in-person, online, hybrid, and off-campus).
- Maintain regular office hours and provide academic support to students in person or online. Create a supportive learning environment and promote student success through clear communication and effective instructional strategies. Support student organizations and activities. - Actively participate in student recruitment and retention efforts, contribute to marketing initiatives, and cultivate relationships with industry partners, high schools, and the community. Professionalism & Communication
- Maintain strong organizational skills, demonstrate reliability, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Lab and Equipment Management
- Oversee the Welding lab, ensuring a safe, organized, and effective environment for hands-on instruction. Maintain tools, equipment, and materials, and coordinate with support staff or students assisting in lab activities. Physical & Travel Requirements
- Work in indoor/outdoor settings, operate equipment as needed, and travel for outreach, recruitment, and off-campus instruction.
