Job Description:
Our client is seeking an operations-focused Foundry Manufacturing Engineer to coordinate and execute engineering projects across a heavy industrial foundry division in Waterloo, IA. This is a dynamic, hands-on opportunity where you will spend approximately 75% of your time directly on the factory floor, collaborating with cross-functional teams, supervisors, and operators to optimize process efficiency. If you are a process-driven engineer who thrives in an active manufacturing environment and loves driving projects to completion, this 24-month project is the perfect platform for your skills.
Required Skills:
Coordinate and execute engineering projects aimed at continuous improvement throughout the foundry floor. Support high-impact production sectors by responding directly to tactical line issues and bottlenecks. Spend roughly 75% of your shift active on the shop floor troubleshooting equipment, workflows, and process parameters. Utilize specialized software architectures to map out production data, manage project goals, and coordinate cross-functional shift transitions. Safely operate indoor industrial utility vehicles to transport tools, computer terminals, or components between connected facility office sectors.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or an equivalent level of technical field experience. 1+ years of foundry or heavy process engineering experience is highly preferred.
Recent Graduates:
Must possess at least one completed technical internship within a manufacturing environment . Proficient operational skills with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documenting data trends.
Excellent physical endurance:
Comfort standing/walking for 75% of an 8-hour shift and lifting up to 30 lbs.
Safety Gear Requirement:
Must provide and wear your own metatarsal safety boots starting on Day 1.
Preferred Technical Pluses:
Experience or exposure to SAP, MES, Creo, AutoCAD , Robotics Programming ( FANUC ), or Controls Engineering.
