Full-Time Job Description:
Position Summary Manufacturing Engineers work collaboratively with Design Engineering (new product development and existing products) and Manufacturing Operations. They implement manufacturing processes and systems to meet manufacturing goals and objectives such as improved safety and environmental performance, improved quality, reduced cost and meeting scheduled customer deliveries. They provide direct support to company Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives and are also responsible to investigate, understand, and apply the appropriate new manufacturing technologies while always maintaining alignment to defined company core competencies. In addition, this position provides engineering compliance support for Kinze commercial hydraulic/hangar door products and installations, including validation of wind-load and other code-driven design criteria. Kinzes door designs are used for commercial, aviation, and agricultural installations.
General Duties General Responsibilities:
Use critical thinking skills to troubleshoot problems, find root causes, and develop / implement corrective actionsSupport and initiate Engineering Change Requests and oversee their completionDevelop and modify work instructions based on product and process changesIdentify and implement process improvementsIdentify and assist in training needs for new processes or equipmentDevelop and maintain standardized calculation templates, assumptions logs, and design checklists supporting commercial/hangar door compliance deliverables.
New Product Development:
Develop and support implementation of Manufacturing PlansProactively participate in product design reviews to ensure parts and products are designed for manufacturabilityDesign and implement basic tooling and fixturingDesign and implement processes throughout manufacturingConduct Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)Assistance in costing activitiesInterface with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions when compliance gaps are identified (design changes, documentation updates, manufacturing controls).When required, review and approve engineering calculations and/or drawings for commercial/special projects.
Lean Manufacturing Implementation:
Assist in developing and maintaining Value Stream MapsAssist in driving lean activities such as
Employee Suggestions and Lean Training Capital Project Planning and Execution:
Recommend new equipment to support process improvement, capacity needs, or new product introductionRecommend and support layout changes to facilitate new processes Requirements Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, 3D Modeling, and CAD software with MRP Systems experience.

Must possess Lean Manufacturing knowledge and be familiar with OSHA / Industry safety requirements.

Strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, blue print reading skills, and strong problem solving and critical thinking skills are required.

Must work well in cross functional groups with understanding of quality systems and process control.
