This role is responsible for providing project engineering and technical support to OSI Corporate Engineering and production plants including basic engineering system design, project scope development, costing, planning, installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and follow up assessment. The Engineer I will manage aspects of more complex projects under the oversight of more senior engineers in the department and may be assigned leadership in lower complexity projects. Supports members of the Corporate Engineering department and work with plant management, other corporate resources, and third-party vendors and contractors to deliver cost effective solutions and project support.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Job is an individual contributor. Job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports. Participate in all phases of the plant project as needed by providing input on appropriate design specifications; management of schedule, scope, cost, and quality; and provide additional site focused project and start-up support. Provide maintenance and technical and operational support by applying basic engineering principles to plant improvement opportunities. This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws. Perform other duties as assigned.Experience & Skills:
0-3 years of experience in related field is preferred. Understanding of basic engineering principles related to food and beverage manufacturing. Basic understanding of project life cycle and constraints (Scope, Quality, Cost, and Schedule. Ability to create, read, and analyze a variety of blueprints, schematics, and similar documentation, included understanding of CAD type software Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with peers, management, and external contacts, and work in a team setting. Ability to supervise and manage the work of contractors to achieve established goals and objectives. Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.Preferred Education:
BA/BS or equivalent in a scientific field is preferred. Preference for degree in Engineering Compensation/Benefits The base salary for this position ranges from a low of $78,280 to a maximum of $117,420, with offers typically between the low and middle of the range, based on education, skills, experience and internal equity among other factors. This role is also eligible to participate in the company annual discretionary bonus plan based on company and individual performance. Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyors (may depend on the job assignment). Work conditions are typical of an office & plant environment. This role typically requires 50% domestic travel, depending on the job location for the project assignments. Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 15 pounds Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
