Design Engineer We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to develop product and process requirements, standards, and associated documentation. You will interpret customer, agency, and market requirements, defining appropriate design specifications, and prepare technical briefs and support literature for products. Responsibilities Develop product and process requirements, standards, and associated documentation. Interpret customer, agency, and market requirements to define design specifications. Prepare technical briefs and support literature for products. Create prototype design packages and collaborate with design, manufacturing engineering, production, and quality teams. Develop prototype and pre-production build schedules, managing resources to achieve deadlines. Prioritize multiple projects to meet customer expectations. Assist with building and testing prototypes. Support agency certification activities for new products (UL, CE, CSA, VDE, etc.). Interpret test requirements, prepare test procedures, and conduct tests and experiments. Develop production process plans and procedures. Design improvements to products and processes. Provide technical support to production personnel. Participate in the Engineering Change Control process. Perform product, process, and system audits; maintain logs and analyze data. Analyze failed or returned materials and assist in developing corrective actions. Determine disposal of non-conforming products and components. Evaluate statistical data for trends and develop corresponding product or process improvements. Research and evaluate suppliers and new sources of products, materials, and components. Provide on-site customer support as necessary. Understand and follow all organization and department safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD, and mechanical engineering design. Understanding of GD&T, new product development, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and thermal processes. Experience with DFMEA andPFMEA. A
minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably CNC, utilizing SolidWorks. Demonstrated understanding and application of basic engineering concepts such as physics, metallurgy, chemistry, fluids, thermodynamics, heat transfer, testing, and electrical theory. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field. Demonstrated planning and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SolidWorks (or equivalent 3D solid modeling), and analysis software. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with Minitab, audit, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software. Team player with a strong cultural fit. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Batavia, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $95000.00/yr. Client offers a competitive salary, 401k match, full benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Batavia,IL.
