Job Description

Job Title:
Manufacturing EngineerJob Description The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in assisting product groups with the design and implementation of test systems for prime product units and lower powertrain. This includes responsibilities in final test and adjust booths, as well as in process validation. Responsibilities Assist in the design and implementation of test systems for product units. Provide component drawings as required. Initiate and track projects, develop specifications for vehicle testing, and develop test software for both full build and modular units. Offer technical support for electrical and hydraulic systems to resolve end-of-line test issues. Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes to support management decisions. Design and direct the acquisition of tooling and machines. Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develop solutions, and monitor improvements. Procure materials related to manufacturing improvements through external suppliers. Analyze and deploy engineering change notices. Establish and maintain standard work procedures. Train and develop training programs for test operators. Engage in creative problem-solving to address operational issues including ergonomic, safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, and quality concerns. Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience. Experience with digital multimeters, data acquisition devices, PLC programming, and industrial instrumentation. Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers. Proficiency in reading electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics. Experience with 3D modeling programs. Experience in factory operations and large equipment manufacturing environments. Capability in machine system troubleshooting using Electronic Technician and other software. Experience with MES and SAP. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficient with Microsoft Office, Engineering Team Center, and AutoCAD. Ability to engage in hands-on problem-solving in dynamic environments. Work Environment The work environment offers hands-on experiences and new challenges every day. It involves tasks ranging from building harnesses and test stands to supporting line-down situations. This role provides significant recognition for problem-solving skills and offers opportunities to learn about the interaction of various systems. The environment is dynamic, non-monotonous, and involves collaboration to address issues that others may not be able to solve. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Champaign, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
