Job Title:
Packaging Manufacturing Engineer Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Packaging Manufacturing Engineer, where you will collaborate with the manufacturing team and packaging design team to create optimal packaging solutions for new model launches. Your work will focus on meeting key metrics such as safety, quality, velocity, cost, and sustainability. Responsibilities Coordinate packaging approval between design teams and end users. Facilitate agreements with the supply chain regarding returnable packaging loop size and inventory, driving procurement through standard processes. Achieve new model launch metrics and maintain a scorecard. Work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams for design approval and conduct prototype validations to obtain stakeholder sign-off. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and sustainability improvements with support from cross-functional teams. Essential Skills Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques, with the ability to meet or exceed customer needs. Effective communication skills, including the ability to give and receive feedback constructively. Basic understanding of technical excellence, with a structured approach to analyzing and resolving technical problems. Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and engineering, with familiarity in CAD/CAM systems. Basic understanding of manufacturing application systems and safety protocols. Knowledge of packaging tools and practices, with the ability to develop package specifications. Troubleshooting skills for technical problems in a manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Experience with supply chain and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Internship experience in a related field is beneficial. Work Environment This position is based at the Decatur site, where you will engage with state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies in a professional setting. The environment emphasizes safety and sustainability, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Champaign, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
