Illinois , Des Plaines Job Description Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer ready to make a real impact in advanced machining? We're looking for a hands-on expert to lead the development, programming, and optimization of CNC turning processes supporting high-mix, precision contract manufacturing across aerospace, energy, and industrial markets. What You'll Do Develop and optimize vertical, horizontal, and multi-axis turning processes. Create and maintain CNC programs in TopSolid (or equivalent CAM software). Design effective tooling, fixturing, and workholding for new and existing jobs. Lead process prove-outs, first-article runs, and cycle time improvement projects. Collaborate with machinists, quality, and engineering teams to ensure efficient, stable production. Troubleshoot machining and process issues on the shop floor. Provide input for quoting and manufacturability assessments. Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost reduction. What You Bring 5+ years of manufacturing engineering or CNC programming experience in turning. Strong background in vertical/horizontal turning, GD&T, tooling optimization, and blueprint reading. CAM programming experience in TopSolid or similar systems. Comfortable working directly with machinists and operators in a production setting. Experience in turn-mill, aerospace, or high-mix contract machining environments a plus. Working knowledge of fixture design, AS9100, and process validation/FAI preferred.
