Job Description

Innovative Staff Solutions has a new direct hire opportunity for a Molding Engineer with one of our clients in the Nashville, IL area! Here's how you will make an impact: Must be able to at least meet the physical demands as defined by the current production requirements and the job function evaluation. See job function evaluation in the Occupational Nurse's office for more details. Manufacturing environment using normal PPE and safety precautions. What you will do on a daily basis: Set up manufacturing processes and design workstations, tools, and fixtures that are economically sound. Develop and revise AutoCAD drawings. Coordinate engineering changes; support manufacturing through continuous process improvement, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting new program launches. Coordinate and track new program launches within assigned areas. Monitor VID data and determine, recommend, and implement process improvements based on data analysis. Coordinate ISIR submissions. Develop in‑process gauge specifications. Develop data required for customer quotes related to new business opportunities. Represent the company at customer assembly plants for problem evaluation, resolution, and program launches. Set up, archive, and maintain process data; develop and modify databases for charting; establish specification data and limits for assigned processes and maintain them on an ongoing basis. Develop and/or review production procedures. Maintain an acceptable attendance record. Run capability studies; monitor gauge and SPC data monthly; review and investigate NCNs, deviation requests, QA notices, and related issues to recommend corrective actions. Document, format, and present information related to 8D reports, AFEs, CIPs, and similar activities to management. Demonstrate proficiency in programming Sepro and Fanuc robotic systems. Streamline manufacturing processes through automation. Maintain production and service robot programs. Identify opportunities for new or improved automation within manufacturing processes. Develop new programs utilizing integrated automation components (e.g., flame, trim, etc.). Troubleshoot automated processes and equipment when errors occur. Develop and maintain clear documentation outlining program changes, safety improvements, and technical training. Stay current with emerging manufacturing and automation technologies. Demonstrate competency in and utilize AIAG Core Tools. Review, interpret, and summarize statistical data. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Participate in department meetings. Complete required documentation of activities. Submit cost‑reduction and innovation ideas. Perform other duties as assigned. Demonstrate willingness to work off shifts, overtime, and weekends as necessary.
Requirements:
Required
  • One year continuous work experience. Must have ability to read and interpret part prints Preferred
  • Two years engineering experience in an automotive parts manufacturer. Preferred
  • Experience demonstrating an understanding of advanced SPC principles and application, problem solving, troubleshooting and a working knowledge of AutoCad. Must have good problem solving skills. Must have good computer skills. Must work well with others. Must have good communication skills
  • both verbal and written. Must have good SPC and math skills. Required
  • B.
S. degree in engineering discipline. In special circumstances, candidates who have not met the required education, but have substantial manufacturing work experience that is applicable to the job may be considered. Must be able to at least meet the physical demands as defined by the current production requirements and the job function evaluation.
