Automation Assembly Project Leader - Chicago (Ravenswood) $60-70/hr | Contract thru Q1 2027 |
Immediate Need Hybrid:
Chicago (Ravenswood) We are hiring a hands-on Assembly Project Leader / Automation Project Engineer to drive delivery of a new automated/manual assembly line (300K pcs/year capacity). You'll lead the full lifecycle of a new OEM machine build-working directly with engineering, suppliers, and production teams to ensure successful design, build, FAT, installation, and ramp-up. What you'll do:
  • Own delivery of a new assembly system from OEM through production launch
  • Act as primary interface with equipment OEM (incl. Bartlett, IL site visits)
  • Partner with engineering/product teams on design revisions & process flow
  • Support FAT, installation, qualification & production ramp-up
  • Develop operator work instructions & support control strategy
  • Track milestones, manage deliverables, and keep the build on schedule Looking for:
  • Hands-on automation / assembly / machine build experience
  • Strong organization & Excel skills
  • Experience in regulated or manufacturing environments (preferred)
  • Program/Project Management background in automation a strong fit
  • Process-driven, independent, and strong communicator This is a long-term contract supporting a critical new production launch with high visibility across engineering and operations.
