POSITION INFO
The position is responsible for exploring new technology and working with the plants to determine its applicability within NIBCO. Work with Corporate Product Engineering team on new products that may present a challenge based on the available manufacturing technology. Once a new technology is identified, manage the project from funding appropriation through installation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data analysis for existing, potential, & new equipment; build representative models of manufacturing scenarios (utilization, staffing, loading); review quality information (Cp, CpK) & establish equipment capability. Evaluation of technologies - recognizing technologies that would be applicable within NIBCO; establish confidence that the equipment will be viable for many years; coordinate cost effective ways to physically prove a potential technology for NIBCO. Prepare necessary information for the financial justification and work with the appropriate parties to complete the justification. Work with supplier and plant to specify desired components and operational sequences. Work with purchasing to develop acceptance criteria and finalize purchase orders. Coordinate trials and acceptance of new equipment at the vendor location. Coordinate installation and acceptance of new equipment at the NIBCO facility.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required in manufacturing, engineering or equivalent.
TRAINING AND SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office software. Ability to reach technical documents. Project management experience. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
