Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Automation Engineer to lead and implement hardware and software solutions that support equipment safety, reliability, and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for supporting manufacturing automation systems, improving production processes, troubleshooting equipment issues, and leading projects that enhance productivity and product quality. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PLCs, robotics, control systems, and manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation and control systems. Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability. Work with vendors and contractors during equipment installations, upgrades, and automation projects. Interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical drawings. Support production by diagnosing and resolving manufacturing process and equipment issues. Assist in the design and improvement of manufacturing processes to increase productivity, yield, and quality. Coordinate project schedules, shutdowns, and machine downtime with production and maintenance teams. Monitor production schedules and align maintenance and automation activities to minimize operational disruptions. Communicate effectively with operations management regarding production issues, project updates, and equipment performance. Lead cross-functional teams to complete projects on time and within budget. Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA regulations, GMP standards, and environmental and safety requirements. Maintain positive working relationships with team members, customers, vendors, and contractors. Qualifications Associate's degree in Engineering or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Strong knowledge of PLCs, operator interfaces, robotics, and industrial control systems. Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Professional attitude with a strong customer-service mindset. Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards. Willingness to work off-shift hours, weekends, and holidays when necessary. Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate tools, equipment, and machinery. Frequent work on the production floor in warehouse and food processing environments with seasonal temperature variations. Work around complex machinery and packaging systems requiring manual dexterity and attention to detail. Facility contains nuts, fruits, and other allergens. Why Join Us?
