Some engineers improve PowerPoints. This role improves an actual manufacturing floor. A well-established manufacturing operation in Bluffton, IN is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer who thrives in production environments and knows how to turn inefficiency into measurable results. This role is built for someone who enjoys solving problems on the floor, improving manufacturing processes, reducing cycle times, and partnering directly with operations teams to drive continuous improvement. This is not a desk-only engineering role. You'll work closely with production, maintenance, quality, purchasing, and engineering teams to improve manufacturing performance in real time. If you like seeing the direct impact of your work instead of talking about it in meetings for six months, you'll probably enjoy this role.

Manufacturing Process Engineer Requirements & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required 3-5+ years of manufacturing engineering or process engineering experience Experience within stamping, welding, fabrication, automotive, or industrial manufacturing environments Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies Experience improving cycle times, manufacturing efficiency, and production flow Ability to analyze manufacturing operations and implement measurable process improvements Experience developing and maintaining: Process routings Bills of materials (BOMs) Work instructions Packaging instructions Support APQP activities, manufacturing launches, and tooling implementation projects Standardize work methods and improve manufacturing consistency across operations Partner directly with production, maintenance, quality, purchasing, and engineering teams to improve plant performance Train and support employees on problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives Comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor in a fast-paced production environment Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Ability to independently drive projects and process improvements forward Experience within ISO-driven manufacturing environments preferred
Must Haves:
Hands-on manufacturing engineering experience within a production environment Experience improving machine or operation cycle times Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and maintenance teams Experience implementing measurable continuous improvement initiatives Strong floor presence and willingness to work directly in manufacturing operations Ability to identify inefficiencies and turn them into practical process improvements
Manufacturing Process Engineer Preferred Background & Skills:
Manufacturing Engineer background within automotive or Tier 1 manufacturing Continuous Improvement Engineer experience Industrial Engineering background focused on manufacturing operations Experience within metal stamping or fabrication environments Exposure to tooling, die-setting, or setup improvement initiatives Strong data analysis and productivity reporting experience Engineers who prefer solving problems on the floor versus sitting behind a desk all day
