Onsite We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, increase operational efficiency, and reduce manufacturing costs. This role supports fabrication and assembly operations by developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes while partnering with production and engineering teams to improve overall manufacturing performance.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze existing manufacturing methods and workflows to identify opportunities for improvements in quality, productivity, safety, and cost efficiency. Conduct time studies and workflow evaluations to establish production benchmarks and performance standards. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to assess product designs and modifications, ensuring efficient and practical manufacturability. Develop, document, and maintain standardized work instructions and supporting process documentation. Support cross-functional initiatives focused on operational excellence and process optimization. Lead and support continuous improvement efforts through the application of Lean Manufacturing and other process improvement methodologies. Design and develop fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing aids that improve production efficiency and consistency. Stay current with industry trends, manufacturing technologies, and best practices, implementing new solutions where appropriate. Investigate and resolve production-related challenges to minimize downtime and maintain operational effectiveness. Maintain and update bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and related manufacturing documentation. Provide guidance, coaching, and training to manufacturing personnel as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field required. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training or certification. Two to eight years of manufacturing engineering experience within an industrial manufacturing environment. Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, including familiarity with Vault. Strong understanding of fabrication processes and equipment, including MIG welding, plasma and waterjet cutting, press brakes, saws, rollers, lathes, and other shop equipment. Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings and blueprints. Experience developing and maintaining CNC programs for milling machines and lathes. Understanding of MRP systems and manufacturing planning processes. Excellent mechanical aptitude with strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Ability and willingness to train, mentor, and support team members when needed. Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment while exercising initiative and sound professional judgment. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
