$125,000 - $145,000 Kansas City, MO Monday-Friday | Days Machinery Manufacturing Relocation Package on offer We are working with a leading machine manufacturer that is looking to experienced Automation Engineers to their engineering team.. The position offers the opportunity to work with global engineering teams on complex automation projects across multiple PLC platforms. Key Responsibilities as an
Automation Engineer:
Design and develop PLC, HMI, motion control, and machine safety software Program and support industrial automation systems for production equipment and integrated lines Integrate third-party equipment and industrial communication networks into complete automation solutions Configure and troubleshoot EtherNet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, and related industrial networks Participate in machine commissioning, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and startup activities Troubleshoot and resolve automation, controls, software, and communication issues Support software standardization and development of modular automation architectures Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure compliance with corporate software standards Create and maintain software documentation, functional specifications, and commissioning reports Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on machine performance and software reliability
Required Skills & Experience:
Experience programming PLC-based automation systems Strong understanding of
IEC 61131-3
programming standards Experience with industrial networking and communications including EtherNet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA, and Modbus TCP Siemens TIA Portal and Siemens S7 PLC programming experience preferred Experience with Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Machine Expert preferred Beckhoff TwinCAT programming experience preferred
