This role bridges engineering design and production by optimizing workflows, tooling, equipment, and documentation while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production documentation. Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing layouts to improve safety, quality, and throughput. Support new product introductions (NPI) from design through full-rate production. Analyze production performance and implement cost, yield, cycle time, and waste reduction initiatives. Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability (DFM/DFA). Troubleshoot production issues and drive root cause and corrective action (RCCA) Establish and maintain process control plans, PFMEAs, and standard work. Support capital equipment selection, installation, and qualification. Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety policies. Maintain a strong shop-floor presence to provide hands-on support and rapid response to production initiatives. Maintain professionalism with respectful communication, ethical behavior, and a positive attitude.
Qualifications Qualifications and Skills Required:
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Working Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, fabrication, automation, etc.) Experience with lean manufacturing, six sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency with engineering drawings, GD&T, and process documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
Exposure to HVAC manufacturing. Experience with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES). Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification. CNC, automation, robotics, or equipment programming experience. Additional Information Work Environment Manufacturing production floor environment. Collaboration with production floor personnel, design, and leadership.
