Overview:
The Tier 1 Manufacturing and Process Engineer is responsible for oversight of all product-related manufacturing and test processes used within the Tier 1 facilities. Primary responsibilities include oversight/auditing of product Assembly Instructions, assembly/test fixtures, Xerox-designed critical fixtures, Functional Test processes, and other manufacturing processes critical to function and quality. The role requires creating and maintaining all manufacturing process maps. This person will work within Xerox's New Product Introduction/Operations group.
Key responsibilities include:
Working with Development Engineering to understand product requirements prior to Start of Production (SOP) Developing process steps for products within the manufacturing environment Documenting Assembly Work Instructions and required assembly fixtures Coordinating the manufacturing/delivery of Xerox-designed critical fixtures Collaborating with Xerox's Manufacturing Enterprise System team to form test operations Documenting test processes for factory Work Instructions Conducting pre-production trial runs on products at Xerox's onsite testing lab Driving continuous improvement of manufacturing test processes to improve efficiency and reduce time/cost The ideal candidate will exhibit a willingness and ability to learn product functions at a deep level. Leveraging this product knowledge, the candidate will create and maintain the overall manufacturing processes needed to properly assemble and test the function and quality of all products manufactured at the Tier 1 sites. The candidate must exhibit excellent communication skills within a cross-functional environment and be able to document detailed processes. The candidate will report to one of the Operations Team managers, but may engage across product families for all Tier 1 manufacturing sites. Additional collaboration is required with Xerox's Product Development and Shared Manufacturing Teams. The candidate is expected to travel several times a year to manufacturing sites in Mexico, the Philippines, China, and Thailand. Leadership Skills Business Acumen Functional Knowledge Process Documentation Skills Resource Coordination Technical Inclination Critical Thinking Communication Skills Education and Experience BS in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related courses; Master's degree in any of these courses is a plus Experience in project management and use of its tools; PMP certification a plus Experience in leading projects that require working with multi-disciplined teams Experience in working with worldwide teams is preferred Experience in developing and documenting processes Supervisory experience is preferred Experience with using automation tools is a plus (e.g. Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) How We Set You Up for
