Job Description

Advance Products & Systems, LLC., a global leader in design and manufacturing of innovative cathodic protection, corrosion prevention and safety products has an available position for a Design Engineer I The Design Engineer will develop and improve the company's line of products while designing and analyzing components and assemblies within existing and new products to meet client specifications and industry standards. The position will work with the engineering team and be a technical lead in defining what products are to be brought to the market. The successful candidate will have contact with customers and may have to travel to job sites to resolve product installation or operation issues in the field.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and optimize new and existing products, or components, ensuring functionality, safety and cost effectiveness
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, CAD models and prototypes
  • Perform design validation and testing to verify product functionality and adherence to customer requirements
  • Work with production and quality on production optimization, including consideration of design-for-manufacturing
  • Some collaboration with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components, ensuring optimal product quality and cost efficiency
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all design work and testing Experience and Technical Skills Minimum of Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering Ability to read and understand design drawings with geometric dimensioning tolerances CAD and 3D modeling skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) Proficient in MS Office Suite Highly motivated and teachable Communication skills - strong written and verbal Ability to work in the plant as well as interacting with customers and suppliers Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
