Job Summary:

Responsible for evaluating and configuring manufacturing systems to improve efficiency, quality, sustainability, reduce cost, and develop best practices within the production process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, soliciting observations from operators. Develops innovative manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Conducting tests and monitoring the process performance throughout production Troubleshooting problems associated with manufacturing processes Estimating production costs Project-based working closely with Production, Quality & Maintenance departments Responsible for developing procedures and checklists Assist Plant Engineering Department as needed to design, develop, and procure New Plant Equipment

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains product and process data base by utilizing computer programs, entering data. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Results-Oriented problem solver in an ever-changing environment with strong troubleshooting skills Strong in Lean Manufacturing procedures Strong follow-up skills; detail-oriented Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills

Strong Computer Skills:

Solid works or AutoCAD; CAD/CAM; Excel; SAP Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field or similar field with the equivalent in experience and training Prefer 3 years minimum work experience in manufacturing /operations Self-motivated; able to work independently or in teams with little supervision

Scope and Impact:

Position has recurring work situations that involve having a high attention to detail and service results. It is important that Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. Safety protocols be followed as a guide for operational direction. Failing to follow prescribed guidelines will waste resources and adversely impact performance.

Working Conditions:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Employee is subject to inside working conditions with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change. Primarily works at least 85% of the time in a floor environment of a manufacturing plant. Frequently required use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear clearly. Frequently required to stand and walk. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Wear safety glasses and ear plugs. Gloves (optional; company provided) Subject to very light dust, high and low temperatures, and other standard elements of a manufacturing environment.
