Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineer - Process Planning plays a critical role in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for high-precision products. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient production methods, improving product quality, reducing manufacturing costs, and supporting overall operational excellence. Working cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams, the Manufacturing Engineer will develop manufacturing plans, improve process flow, support continuous improvement initiatives, and help ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products. Key Responsibilities Review product designs for manufacturability, tolerance requirements, quality standards, and cost drivers. Define and develop manufacturing processes for components and assemblies. Determine fixture, tooling, and gage requirements for new products and coordinate the design or procurement of required items. Create and maintain manufacturing process routings and bills of material (BOMs) within the ERP system. Review Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and update manufacturing documentation as required. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality, Production Supervisors, and Machine Operators to maximize productivity and product quality. Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to quality issues and production challenges. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and throughput. Qualifications Required Skills & Experience Experience with CNC machining, including workholding methods and machining principles. Strong understanding of machine shop practices, manufacturing processes, and precision measurement techniques. CAD and solid modeling experience with familiarity in engineering drawings, GD&T, and dimensioning standards. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience supporting high-precision manufacturing environments.
