Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and implement process control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA) to automate and enhance manufacturing operations.
- Analyze current manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities and implement changes to improve efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead or support capital projects involving automation upgrades, new equipment installation, or production line modifications.
- Design and implement data acquisition systems and process monitoring tools to drive continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot control systems, instrumentation, and process-related issues in real-time manufacturing environments.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to ensure robust and reliable equipment performance.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including control system designs, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA, NFPA) and company safety policies in all engineering activities.
- Train operators and maintenance staff on new automated systems and process changes.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for process deviations or equipment failures.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.
HMI/SCADA
systems.- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
- Familiarity with automation platforms and software tools (Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, Ignition SCADA, etc.).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, Lean principles, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with robotics integration (e.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Team player with a proactive and hands-on approach. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing process engineering and controls/automation systems
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Ability to be well organized and the ability to prioritize to make good decisions, and multi-task.
- Ability to work independently and have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other team members and facility leadership.
