Primary (Must-Have):
  • 12+ years of experience in Automation Engineering within the Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with the Rockwell Automation ecosystem (Rockwell PLCs, FactoryTalk View Studio, FactoryTalk View SE, and FactoryTalk Batch).
  • Robust background operating within regulated, high-compliance Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environments.
  • Proven capability in system maintenance, real-time troubleshooting, and executing minor logic/configuration changes to ensure manufacturing continuity. Secondary (Good to Have):
  • Experience with OSI PI data historians for process monitoring and data analytics.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Rockwell PlantPAx distributed control systems or Emerson DeltaV batch platforms.
  • Strong technical writing capability for updating site procedures and compliance documentation.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an elite Senior Automation Engineer with 12+ years of experience to join a critical, 100% onsite manufacturing initiative in Norton, MA. Operating within a high-stakes Life Sciences GMP environment, the incumbent will serve as the primary technical anchor for the site's Rockwell Automation ecosystem. This role focuses on maximizing system continuity, rapidly resolving complex troubleshooting calls, and performing precise system modifications. This is an exceptional opportunity to safeguard the operational integrity of a premier pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and execute targeted logic and configuration modifications on Rockwell PLCs, FactoryTalk View SE, FactoryTalk Batch, and PlantPAx systems to ensure uninterrupted production continuity.
  • Provide expert tier-3 technical support to internal engineering teams, operations personnel, and cross-functional site stakeholders on Rockwell platforms and related architectures.
  • Author, review, and modify critical technical documentation, including functional design specifications, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring strict adherence to site governance.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize automation system performance, proactively identifying vulnerabilities and implementing preventative maintenance activities on the Rockwell platform.
  • Offer cross-functional technical guidance on secondary site technologies, including OSI PI networks and DeltaV batch systems, while strictly enforcing corporate safety, environmental, and GMP quality standards.
  • Curate, update, and own the localized automation knowledge base, ensuring manufacturing site compliance with industry best practices and global regulatory requirements.
