Manufacturing Engineer (Electrical Test & Vacuum Systems)

Relocation Assistance Available Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support electrical testing, failure analysis, and production of advanced detector systems in an ISO 7 cleanroom environment. This role focuses on high voltage, high vacuum testing, troubleshooting, and process improvement for Microchannel Plates (MCPs) and Advanced Performance Detectors (APDs).
Key Responsibilities:
Perform electrical testing and validation of detector assemblies Operate and maintain high vacuum systems (10 to 10 Torr) and test equipment Conduct failure analysis and full product teardowns to identify root causes Troubleshoot issues including low gain, shorts, vacuum leaks, and contamination Support manufacturing operations and resolve real-time production issues Develop and update work instructions, test procedures, and documentation Track and analyze yields, scrap, and defect trends using SPC tools (Minitab) Maintain and configure high voltage power supplies, oscilloscopes, and test fixtures Assist in transitioning manual test systems to automated processes Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and
ISO 9001
quality initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field 5-10 years of experience in semiconductor, vacuum systems, or high-voltage environments Hands-on experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work directly with hardware Experience with cleanroom operations and precision instrumentation U.S. Citizenship required (ITAR compliance)
Preferred:
Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies or detector technologies (MCP, PMT, APD) Familiarity with SPC, Minitab, and manufacturing process improvement
