Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to plan, design, implement, optimize, and continuously improve manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for enhancing efficiency, ensuring product quality, and supporting production operations through technical expertise and hands-on involvement. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes through research, testing, and collaboration with vendors and operators. Develop and optimize manufacturing methods, equipment, and workflows based on product requirements. Analyze workflow, space utilization, and equipment layout to improve efficiency. Troubleshoot production and equipment issues and provide hands-on support, including training staff on maintenance and repair. Partner with Quality to implement corrective actions and ensure process and product quality through testing and standards. Lead cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives. Analyze production, labor, and material costs to support operational decision-making. Prepare reports by analyzing data, trends, and performance metrics. Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory (GMP), and quality standards; report any food safety concerns. Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs to ensure operational reliability. Support design and development projects by training and guiding technicians. Develop work instructions and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Required Qualifications 5-8 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Packaging, Plastics Engineering, or related field Strong knowledge of tooling and manufacturing processes Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or CAD software Strong technical writing and documentation skills Hands-on experience with automated manufacturing equipment Proficient in Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications Experience with pouch forming, sealing machines, converting equipment, and/or injection molding Knowledge of converting processes or film materials Familiarity with GMP standards for food or medical packaging Knowledge of BRC, ISO, or SQF standards Experience in film lamination and flexible packaging Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles Experience with Vision systems Experience with Robotics Comprehensive Benefits Package Includes Medical, Dental, Vision, and Pet Insurance 401(k) with 3% company match Sign-on bonus One week of vacation every 6 months Employee Referral Bonus Program (up to $1,500) Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
