Jobs › Wilmington, MA › Manufacturing Engineer Intern Tecomet Manufacturing Engineer Intern Wilmington, MA Apply #449 Wilmington, MA, USA Position Type Full-time Salaried/Hourly Hourly Travel Requirements N/A Job Description Manufacturing Engineering Intern Position Summary The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet's principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics. Supports the successful development of continuous improvement projects that meets the company expectations, under the direction of an experienced person. Principle Responsibilities Collect data either directly in the shop floor or in computer systems. Develop reports and evaluate collected data to support projects. Develop and uses templates and guidance from experienced engineers to develop process and quality documentation to support operations and other continuous improvement activities. Knows and follows all safety requirements. Supports the analysis of production flow, equipment utilization and efficiencies through the application of fundamental Lean manufacturing techniques. Follows the procedures and guidelines in the Tecomet Quality Management System. Provides task status and development updates to Program Managers and supervisors. Assists production with necessary requirements to meet on time delivery and customer satisfaction metrics as needed. Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by supervisor.
Qualification Requirements Credentials/Experience:
Working towards a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Fundamental machining skills, including familiarity with CNC machine tools. Knowledge of GD&T concepts. Create detailed part drawings with CAD systems (SolidWorks, ProE). Proficient with SolidWorks and familiarity with PDM tools. Good technical writing skills. Good communication skills across a variety of media - verbal, written, presentation. Good organizational skills. Passion for delivering excellent customer service. Experience with Minitab or Statistics Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Excellent data entry skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and exercise judgment Other Requirements Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
