The ADI Industrial Architecture Team (Wilmington, MA) is seeking an experienced Principal Mixed-Signal Design Engineer with high speed, mixed-signal CMOS design experience for the IC architecture development of breakthrough new products. The candidate will be a key member of an advanced architecture team and drive an industry-leading high-performance Industrial portfolio into new and more highly integrated applications. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop system level designs on both monolithic and heterogeneously integrated systems using fine line CMOS and other process technologies and collaborate closely with an experienced and motivated development team. A demonstrated track record of driving industry-leading performance and innovation, as manifested through patents, peer-reviewed publications and/or industry-leading product leadership, is required. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual and with strong technical, analytical and communication skills. The role will involve significant collaboration with customers, partners and internal centers-of-excellence.Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and integration of broadband communications subsystems. Develop and implement multi-GHz digital communication systems. Design and define RF ADCs/DACs for wideband digital communication systems. Perform block-level calibration of data converters. Conduct mixed-mode system calibration of subsystems and converters. Manage multi-channel synchronization and crosstalk. IntegrateSERDES, RF
CMOS, or data converter designs. Work with FinFET or fine-line planar analog CMOS technologies. Contribute to software-defined CMOS communications or radar system design. Implement digitally-assisted high-speed analog design techniques.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE); Master's degree (MSEE) preferred. 15+ years of experience in high-speed, mixed-signal IC design or architecture. Full-chip design lead or significant subsystem leadership experience through multiple full development cycles, including breakthrough product development. Extensive experience designing high-speed, high-resolution ADC, DAC and converter front end circuits for high-performance applications is required. Experience designing high-voltage, high-speed CMOS amplifiers. Experience designing optical and photonic interfaces, including TIAs, is desired. Familiarity with high-frequency communication channels, as well as frequency and time domain characterization and measurement techniques (such as TDR) is advantageous. Design lead experience of high-performance analog blocks, including: filters, VGA/PGA, variable analog delays, DLLs and charge pumps is a plus. Design expertise in FinFET or fine-line planar analog CMOS processes. Experience in software-defined CMOS communications or radar system design. Proficiency in digitally-assisted high-speed analog design. Excellent presentation and communication skills.Preferred Skills:
Strong background in signal processing for broadband communication systems. Intimate understanding of RF ADCs/DACs. Proven track record in developing high-speed converter calibration algorithms. 1st Shift/Days The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $157,080 to $227,460. Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.
