Job Description

Role:
You will drive measurable performance improvements in a transmission gear and shaft machining area by identifying and eliminating losses in Availability, Performance, and Quality. The role focuses on optimizing existing processes, strengthening standard work, and developing operator capability through hands-on coaching and problem-solving. You will gain hands on experience in various aspects of machining such as automation of flow, robotics, in line automated gaging for quality control. We seek a motivated individual with excellant communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for people-oriented processes with technological innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead OEE improvement activities on established machining lines, targeting cycle time, downtime, speed losses, minor stoppages, scrap & rework losses. Facilitate structured Kaizen events and daily continious improvement in collaboration with operators, maintenance, quality, and production leadership. Implement counter measures and verify effectiveness through data, reports and follow up. Reduce internal quality losses using structured problem solving tools (5Why, 4M, 5W1H, Ishikawa) Train, teach & coach operators to consistantly perform to the defined process standards. Strengthen process capability by improving setups, tooling strategies, gage methods.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering (or equivalent experience). 3 to 7 years of experience in machining manufacturing (CNC machining preferred), ideally gears, shafts, or similar precision components. Demonstrated experience improving OEE and reducing losses in a production environment. Working knowledge of Lean/Kaizen principles and structured problem solving (A3, 5 Why, Pareto). Ability to coach and influence operators and cross-functional teams on the shop floor. Comfort with data: interpreting production/quality data, building simple dashboards, and verifying improvements. For this position, the base pay is set at $83,500 - $103,100 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
