Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a results‑driven Controls Engineer to support manufacturing operations through automation, process development, and project execution. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the technical aspects of manufacturing processes to ensure on‑time product launches, efficient production, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in controls, automation, and manufacturing engineering, with the ability to take full ownership of projects from concept through launch and optimization. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Development & Execution Lead and support controls‑related projects from concept through implementation Develop cost estimates for equipment, tooling, labor, and processes Review project specifications and vendor quotes; resolve discrepancies Coordinate project activities to meet timing, budget, and performance targets Controls & Systems Architecture Design and support control system architecture, including power distribution, control panels, and custom system requirements Ensure compliance with internal standards and electrical/controls best practices Support development and integration of advanced automation technologies Manufacturing & Process Support Analyze and improve workflow, equipment layout, and workforce utilization Design and support tools, fixtures, and equipment Estimate production times, staffing needs, and manufacturing costs Support feasibility studies, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives Equipment Installation & Launch Support equipment installation, debugging, startup, and production launch Provide production standby support during new program introductions Troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting production, quality, or equipment performance Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner closely with engineering, production, quality, suppliers, and vendors Coordinate procurement of equipment, materials, and components Participate in cross‑functional teams to implement new technologies and processes Quality & Continuous Improvement Support PPAP, FMEA, and other advanced quality processes Initiate and complete Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) Identify opportunities for productivity improvement, cost reduction, and process efficiency Take proactive action to resolve quality issues and drive corrective measures QualificationsRequired Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field 3-5 years of experience in controls, automation, or manufacturing engineering Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Preferred Experience with PLC systems and industrial automation Exposure to machining, assembly, and fabrication processes Knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, and quality systems Experience supporting equipment launches and production environments Key Traits for Success Strong ownership mindset and accountability Ability to work independently and collaboratively Detail‑oriented with strong follow‑through Results‑driven and solution‑focused Comfortable in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment Physical Requirements Occasional lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching Ability to handle tools and equipment as needed Work Environment Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, noise, and shop‑floor conditions Regular interaction with production equipment and industrial systems
