Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field 5+ years of experience in crank machining working within a manufacturing environment Hands-on experience with crankshaft manufacturing processes Experience with balancing rotating components/assemblies Strong understanding of reciprocating and rotating mechanisms Experience with grinding and polishing of precision components Proficiency operating turning equipment (manual or automated) Experience with CNC lathes (set-up, operation, and/or programming)
Job Description:
Insight Global is looking for a Crank Execution Engineer in Flint, Michigan to support the installation, commissioning, and launch of crankshaft and rotating assembly processes in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This individual will play a hands-on role on the plant floor, driving daily execution in alignment with production and launch priorities. The engineer will partner with OEMs, contractors, and internal teams to oversee equipment installation, resolve integration issues, and ensure systems are installed and operational per program timelines. They will also lead equipment through the plant's G-compliant safety process, securing red/yellow tag approvals and ensuring all pre-power-on and operator readiness requirements are completed. Additionally, this individual will support equipment qualification, analyze process data to confirm capability and PPAP readiness, and lead issue resolution and process optimization during production ramp to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. $48/hr to $52/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
