Packaging Engineer - Automotive Manufacturing ???? Burton, MI 12+ Month Contract | W2
Shift:
Second Shift We are seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer to support manufacturing and plant operations within a fast-paced automotive environment. This role will focus on packaging development, process improvement, troubleshooting, and cost optimization initiatives across production operations. ????
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and improve packaging solutions for manufacturing and distribution processes
  • Support daily plant operations by resolving packaging-related production issues
  • Lead packaging optimization and cost reduction initiatives
  • Coordinate packaging validation activities for engineering changes and new product launches
  • Review bulk and expendable packaging concepts to improve efficiency and material flow
  • Work closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams
  • Ensure packaging specifications align with manufacturing and operational standards
  • Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and problem-solving methodologies ?
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in packaging engineering within manufacturing or automotive environments
  • Strong knowledge of packaging design, testing, and material specifications
  • Experience supporting plant-floor operations and troubleshooting packaging issues
  • Familiarity with technical drawings, process documentation, and engineering standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills ?
