Role Overview The Lead Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring they meet our stringent safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role requires a strong background in Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management, and a deep understanding of Lean manufacturing principles. Roles and Responsibilities Ensure product producibility and testability (Design for Manufacturability / DFM) upon entry into service. Develop, maintain, and enhance production processes to ensure safe and cost-effective assembly, test, and inspection. Assess, design, and validate tool and equipment needs to facilitate safe, timely, and cost-effective production. Coordinate design, procurement, and implementation of tooling and support equipment, executing to established budgets and timelines. Present to internal teams on metrics, project status, and research. Establish and execute approved new technology, continuous improvement, and cost-out projects. Drive productivity and product quality improvements via process changes. Participate in bid and proposal activity, including development of non-recurring engineering and recurring product cost estimates. Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risk and/or resource requirements. Explain information, influence consensus among team members, and convey performance expectations. May handle sensitive issues. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in Manufacturing) Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and/or Industrial Engineering Preferred Qualifications Experience with Design for Manufacturing Assembly (DFMA) Experience with new product introduction/launch/development Experience leading Lean and/or Continuous Improvement initiatives Strong manufacturing process knowledge and mechanical / electronics design exposure Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Strong problem-solving skills This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
