Job Description

Axios Professional Recruitment is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization to identify a Lean Engineer to join their team. Reporting to the Director of Automation, this individual will be responsible for developing and executing efficient manufacturing systems using lean principles, while leading continuous improvement initiatives. This role plays a key part in driving operational excellence, improving quality, and delivering cost savings across production processes. This individual must be comfortable managing initiatives across off-site locations.
Responsibilities:
Partner with materials and factory leadership to develop and execute transformation plans that improve quality and efficiency across material and production workflows Develop and lead Kaizen initiatives aligned with broader operational transformation goals Engage employees across all levels to identify and implement improvement opportunities Implement process improvements and modifications to reduce production costs Train team members on lean tools and methodologies to help build a sustainable lean culture Ensure documentation and system configurations align with updated process designs Collaborate with process engineers to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and ergonomic workspaces, particularly for new product launches Design or enhance workstations and layouts to reduce inefficiencies, repetitive motion, and ergonomic risks Stay current on manufacturing trends, technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive advantage Identify gaps in processes or deviations from standards and recommend effective solutions Support additional initiatives and responsibilities as assigned by leadership
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field (required) Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment Formal lean training (e.g., structured 4-week program with applied learning) Die-cutting experience preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Solid understanding of ergonomics and applicable industry standards Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems Self-starter with a proactive, disciplined, and autonomous work style
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
