This role creates the mechanical design for automated machinery using 3d modeling software, creates 2d build layout and print sets, and troubleshoots equipment design during the build process. The role interfaces with the controls engineers, machine builders, fabricators, and customers. Duties Develop 3d designs with direction from business development, customer specs, and project scope. Generate assembly drawings, and component drawings for fabrication, along with a Bill Of Materials for purchased and fabricated items. Create operation manuals for equipment/systems. Support the shop floor during fabrication and assembly to troubleshoot and implement changes. Create and maintain standards and templates. Manage outsourced partners (mechanical design and detailing) as needed. Requirements 3+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment / automation design. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor 3d modeling software. Experience with Solidworks or PTC Creo will be considered in lieu of Inventor. Fundamental understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical systems. Understanding of steel cutting, fabrication, welding, and machining processes. Strong communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or product design is a plus!
