Livonia, Michigan, United States Our client is seeking is a Sr. Composites Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity in Livonia Michigan. Overview Support composite programs from concept through production and delivery. This role is primarily focused on program execution ownership, with strong involvement in composites manufacturing execution, ensuring successful delivery of multiple concurrent programs in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring proven program management capability, composites manufacturing experience, and the ability to operate effectively in aerospace or similarly regulated environments. What You'll Do
Lead multiple composite programs end-to-end, ensuring delivery against scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives
Own program management activities including planning, scheduling, tracking, budgeting, and reporting
Develop and execute manufacturing processes, tooling concepts, and detailed work instructions for composite production
Serve as the primary customer interface for program updates, scope changes, and milestone communication
Translate engineering designs into manufacturing composite solutions in coordination with design teams
Support quoting, estimating, and cost analysis for new and existing programs
Manage production execution including materials, labor planning, and daily build support
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.) within manufacturing operations
Mentor and support junior engineers across program and manufacturing activities Qualifications
Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical/Aerospace/Materials preferred with composites experience)
4 years of composite experience
Strong Excel skills
Proficiency with AutoCad software systems
Ability to manage small to medium programs
Effective communication skills in all forms (in person, vocal, written) Preferred Qualifications
Composite experience in an automotive environment
Knowledge of lean principles, Six Sigma, 5S practices, and quality management system standards
Knowledge of aerospace quality requirements (AS9100)
Knowledge of mechanical testing
