Job Description

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for evaluating requirements, making recommendations, and managing projects related to Safety, Quality, and Productivity improvement projects, scrap reduction projects, and new equipment procurement.
Other responsibilities include:
Essential Functions Lead in the design, development and deployment of new manufacturing equipment, automated work cells, assembly lines and other custom manufacturing equipment. Development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and manufacturing technologies to support strategic objectives. Manage updates and modifications to existing manufacturing processes to support new product launch, including review of new part prints and review of design for manufacturability. Lead engineering support of existing manufacturing operations through implementation of safety, quality and performance improvement projects. Create cost comparisons and return on investment calculations to assist in supplier selection. Perform payback analysis and other justifications to support major investment projects. Act as subject matter expert for interdepartmental projects and initiatives. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Demonstrated project management experience focused on concepting, quoting and deployment of custom automation equipment on time and to target requirements. Experience managing projects to automate manual manufacturing processes to reduce labor, improve quality, and improve throughput. Experience with and or knowledge of stamping, manual welding, robotic welding, powder coating, material handling automation, robotics, sheet metal processing and assembly automation preferred. Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing practices and processes including Lean Manufacturing and techniques. Ability to coordinate and manage multi-functional projects through structured Project Management principles Ability to read prints and understand geometric dimensions and tolerances Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints to facilitate the supervision of fabrication and/or installation of equipment. Sound understanding of mechanical and hydraulic operating systems. Adept in guiding and motivating teams to accomplish difficult objectives Proficient in standard business-related computer software such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Auto CAD Strong problem-solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related technical field 5-10 years' experience in a fast paced, customer focused manufacturing environment Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
