Work Arrangement:
Fully Onsite We are seeking an experienced Engineering Specialist•Gear Machining Process to support automotive manufacturing launch operations and continuous improvement initiatives. This role focuses on gear machining process engineering, production launch support, lean manufacturing, and quality improvement within a high-volume powertrain manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with gear machining processes, manufacturing engineering, PPAP documentation, root cause analysis, and process optimization. Responsibilities Support gear machining manufacturing processes and launch activities Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and throughput Complete PPAP quality launch documentation and process audits Develop and improve manufacturing processes using engineering and analytical techniques Lead corrective actions, root cause analysis, and process improvements Create process instructions and manufacturing documentation Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and variability reduction initiatives Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, environmental, and corporate manufacturing standards Identify production constraints and implement corrective solutions to improve performance Collaborate with suppliers, launch teams, and manufacturing operations Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum 5 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and manufacturing process improvement Experience with PPAP, FMEA, DOE, CAPA, 8D, and 5 Why methodologies Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Experience with gear machining, powertrain manufacturing, or automotive production preferred Preferred Skills Hypoid bevel gear machining processes Quality assessment tools such as QDAS and Minitab Gleason Nano Gear CMM and Klingelnberg P40 experience Lean tools including 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, and Value Stream Mapping Six Sigma and
