Sterling Heights, MI (Onsite)
Pay:
$42.30/hour We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer for a temporary, onsite role supporting axle assembly operations. This position focuses on driving process improvement, lean manufacturing, and production efficiency within a high-volume automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support manufacturing process engineering for axle assembly operations Lead continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and productivity Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes using engineering and problem-solving techniques Manage equipment delivery, installation, and commissioning projects Conduct process audits and ensure adherence to manufacturing standards Identify production constraints and implement corrective actions to improve throughput Perform ergonomic assessments and implement safety improvements Develop process documentation, instructions, and quality standards Lead root cause analysis for defects, inventory issues, and machining concerns Ensure compliance with plant, corporate, environmental, and governmental regulations
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred 5+ years of manufacturing process engineering experience Strong background in lean manufacturing, process validation, and problem-solving Experience with PPAP, FMEA, Six Sigma, or DOE preferred Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills Experience with automotive components or axle systems is a plus
