Business Process Engineer Location:
Sterling Heights, MI Pay Rate:
$50/hour Position Overview We are seeking a Business Process Mapping Engineer to support enterprise-wide digital transformation and operational improvement initiatives within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment. This role will focus on analyzing, mapping, and optimizing business processes across multiple functional areas to improve workflow efficiency, system integration, and organizational performance. The ideal candidate will have experience driving process improvement initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting digital enterprise strategies in complex technical or manufacturing organizations. Key Responsibilities Process Mapping & Optimization Map and document business processes across Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain, and other operational teams Develop detailed process maps, flowcharts, and workflow documentation to visualize systems, responsibilities, tools, and data flow Analyze current-state processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, redundancies, and process gaps Recommend and implement optimized workflows aligned with business objectives and digital transformation initiatives Support standardization of processes across departments and programs Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather operational requirements and process inputs Facilitate discussions with cross-functional teams to align workflows, systems, and data management practices Support deployment and adoption of updated processes through communication, training, and change management activities Train employees on revised workflows, documentation standards, and process improvements Continuous Improvement & Digitalization Support enterprise digitalization initiatives and serve as a process mapping subject matter expert Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, Kaizen events, and operational excellence activities Monitor effectiveness of implemented process changes and recommend ongoing improvements Maintain process documentation within a controlled configuration management environment Ensure compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Manufacturing, or a related field Minimum 6 years of experience in business process mapping, process engineering, or process improvement roles Experience developing and maintaining workflow diagrams, process maps, and operational documentation Strong understanding of business process management (BPM) principles and continuous improvement methodologies Experience identifying process gaps and driving workflow optimization initiatives Familiarity with digitalization and process mapping tools such as Prime BPM or similar platforms Experience supporting or leading Kaizen events and process improvement initiatives Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in engineering and manufacturing environments Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Manufacturing, or related discipline 10+ years of relevant industry experience Experience working in engineering, defense, automotive, or manufacturing environments Knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum practices, and performance metrics Experience supporting project management initiatives Familiarity with combat vehicle systems or complex technical manufacturing programs Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies and operational excellence tools Work Environment Onsite role located in Sterling Heights, MI Collaborative environment supporting engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and business operations teams Fast-paced setting focused on continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and enterprise digital transformation initiatives EOE (including Disability/Veterans) #HRUProfessional Apply for this job
