Manufacturing Engineer - 2nd Shift Monday-Thursday | 4-Day Work Week | 10-Hour Shifts Why Consider This Opportunity? This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving, launching new programs, driving process improvements, and making a visible impact on plant performance. The schedule offers a highly desirable 4-day work week , allowing for three-day weekends every week while maintaining full-time hours. Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineer will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering leadership to optimize manufacturing processes, improve production efficiency, support new product launches, and enhance overall plant performance. This role provides significant exposure to assembly line development, equipment optimization, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will have ownership of current and future assembly lines while helping drive world-class manufacturing standards. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing & Process Engineering Own and support manufacturing assembly lines from launch through production. Conduct cycle time studies and identify opportunities to improve productivity and throughput. Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and procedures. Create and maintain engineering documentation, work instructions, and process standards. Provide technical support for production equipment and manufacturing operations. Support maintenance activities, including occasional weekend preventive maintenance initiatives. New Program Launches Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new product launches. Coordinate sample builds and prototype activities. Manage component tracking, build schedules, and open issue resolution. Collaborate with suppliers, equipment vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful launches. Quality & Continuous Improvement Maintain and update PFMEAs, Control Plans, and related quality documentation. Support VDA and IATF compliance initiatives. Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions. Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction projects. Gather operator feedback and incorporate lessons learned into process improvements. Training & Leadership Train operators, maintenance technicians, and production personnel on manufacturing processes and equipment. Support the development of standardized work practices. Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence. Qualifications Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred. Equivalent manufacturing engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Preferred Experience Manufacturing engineering experience within a production environment. Experience supporting assembly processes and production equipment. Strong understanding of PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, and process documentation. Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies. Familiarity with IATF 16949 and automotive manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
