Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer Job Overview:
SAPA Transmission is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing and assembly processes for advanced transmissions used in U.S. Army tracked vehicles. This role assists with process development, documentation, quality compliance, and continuous improvement activities while working closely with production and cross-functional teams. The Manufacturing Engineer will support efficient, safe, and repeatable manufacturing processes under the guidance of senior engineering staff.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain accurate bills of materials within the ERP and PLM systems. Develop, implement, and maintain work instructions for assembly processes. Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations. Support the development, validation, and optimization of manufacturing methods and tools Assist in resolving complex manufacturing issues, supporting production teams to minimize downtime. Assist with basic documentation tasks; e.g. FMEA, Control Plans, SOP's, etc. Assist with basic data analysis using statistical tools (SPC, MSA, DOE) to help evaluate process performance and support improvement efforts. Work alongside cross-functional teams (Quality, Maintenance, and Field Service) to help address customer issues and support the introduction of new products. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree. 1-5 years of relevant experience. Experience reading manufacturing drawings. Basic knowledge of manufacturing process, tooling, and manufacturing equipment (CNC machines and CMM). Basic knowledge of material, heat treatments and coatings. Manufacturing experience in gears/splines, manifolds, castings, and prismatic parts. Experience working with Siemens Team Center and Unigraphics (NX) and other CAD programs Proactive attitude towards work, teamwork, and cooperation. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with customers. Availability for limited travel.
