Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of Aftermarket Engineered solutions. In this role, you will develop parts, kits, retrofits, and field solutions that improve machine availability, enable aftermarket growth, and exceed customer and dealer expectations across current and legacy products. You will work across product groups, product support, and global engineering teams to solve real-world challenges and ensure Caterpillar equipment continues to perform throughout its lifecycle. What You'll Do (Job Duties) Design, develop, and release aftermarket parts, kits, and retrofit solutions for the global installed base Translate customer, dealer, and product support feedback into practical engineering actions that improve reliability and serviceability Support resolution of field issues, product support requests, and unlaunched requisitions (ULRs) Develop and execute concepts, feasibility studies, and validation plans Create and maintain engineering deliverables including models, drawings, BOMs, and documentation Perform or support FEA analysis to evaluate stress, durability, and structural performance of the aftermarket solutions Support integration and design of hydraulic systems and components that support obsolescence issues and supplier changes Support integration and design of electrical systems and components that support obsolescence issues and supplier changes Collaborate with Product Engineering, Product Support, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Suppliers Support part commonality and lifecycle improvement efforts Ensure quality, safety, and compliance of all releases What You Have (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline Strong engineering fundamentals Experience with CAD modeling, drawings, and documentation Ability to solve problems and deliver practical solutions Effective communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities Top Candidates Will Also Have Experience in aftermarket engineering or product support FEA or durability analysis experience Hydraulic systems knowledge and experience Electrical systems knowledge and experience Familiarity with paving machines or other heavy equipment Experience working with global teams and suppliers Understanding of serviceability and lifecycle cost

Summary Pay Range:
$97,530.00 - $146,290.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
